GLULAM - Press Release
Just months after launching Panelam made by Danish glulam supplier Lilleheden, Panel Agency Ltd has signed a supply contract with Stewart Milne Systems and is in final talks with several other timber frame manufacturers. Stewart Milne, the biggest name to switch to glulam, is taking a lorry load, about 55m3 - of Panelam per week, for use on all its timber frame developments in England. Panelam has been developed as an alternative to the normal beams using LVL and other engineered products for rim beam applications in timber floor cassettes.

Advantages cited include dimensional stability, moisture and fire resistance, plus cost.
"There is an upsurge in the UK generally for glulam-based products," said Panel Agency's Mark Wilson. "We're getting a lot of interest for curved glulam work for roof sections where people was the aesthetic quality of glulam".

Panelam is manufactured in lengths of up to 12 metres, Panelam has been developed to act as an edge binder, post or lintel for frame applications. With its inherent strength and predictable fire performance Panelam provides an engineered solution to areas such as party wall detailing and disproportionate collapse.
